    • 3D Earth Screensaver is more than just a standard screensaver with some nice space imagery.

    This screensaver makes you feel like you're flying through space. It presents you with an animated image of our planet as it floats in outer space, including also the Sun, the Moon and even the ISS orbiting around. Images are really beautiful: you can see reflections from sun beams on the surface of Earth, and also the city lights that begin to appear as darkness covers the planet.

    3D Earth Screensaver includes two viewing modes: the demo mode, which simply acts as a screensaver and displays images, and the interactive mode, which enables you to actually interact with the screensaver. You can move from one point to another, zoom in or zoom out and learn more about our planet thanks to the screensaver's layers that include time zones, flags, borders and other details. Just one thing: don't expect to reach street level. This is not Google Earth.

    On the downside, I didn't like having icons and text boxes displayed on the image in demo mode. I would have preferred to just have the gorgeous image of our blueish home: Earth.

    It may not be as accurate as Google Earth, but 3D Earth Screensaver delivers beautiful images of our planet while you're away from your computer.

    Licking Dog Screen Clean features a high image quality, complemented by dog sounds. It would have been great though to have more dogs to choose from or maybe another breed – but pugs are still really cute.

    On the downside, I missed some basic configuration settings, like being able to set the time period or even choosing between different transition effects.

    If you're a racing fan or just love your flash cars, and can't afford one, then this is the next big thing.

    This BMW S3 is brought to you in a high definition screensaver which shows the stunning car in all it's glory. The car is photographed in 3D from all angles and the screensaver camera revolves around the car revealing every contour of its tyres, spoilers and chassis. Are you a fan of Formula 1 or NASCAR? Do you feel adrenaline rushing into your veins when you exceed speed-limit while driving your car? You can also see the car put through its paces with the dials and speedometers visible in the exterior. The skyline is based on some sort of Manhattan skyscraper downtown scene which is the only drawback because it becomes incredibly repetitive as do the camera sweeps and brief burst of action the car launches into.

    Still, if you're a sports car fan and would like to sex-up your desktop with something other than Angelina Joline, this is just as sexy.

    My sister loves cats. She's got four or five of them and she treats them just like her own children. I'm sure she and other cat lovers like her are going to love this screensaver.

    Cat Licking Screensaver could be defined as the sequel of Screen Clean Screensaver, where a not very good-looking dog carefully cleaned your screen with its tongue.

    Now this cute cat is in charge of the same task and licks the whole screen without leaving a single area untouched.

    The screensaver is very easy to install and features a simple settings menu where you can disable the licking sound if you don't like it.

    Even mute, the images are still very funny to see and the cat looks very realistic, although there's only one model included and no option to choose among several cats.

    Anyway, maybe it's because I prefer cats to dogs, but I like this screensaver better than the dog one.

    Even if you're a PC die-hard, you have to admit that at the very least Mac stuff tends to look cool.

    Deviant Art member Ausrif has created this Mac-style Flurry Screensaver, giving you the ultra cool neon glowing shapes as your screensaver. It certainly beats 3D stars or scrolling messages!

    Installing is simple - you unzip the folder, then right-click on the Flurry.scr file and choose 'Install'. That will open your normal screensaver settings window, so make sure you pick Flurry from the menu. To test the file without installation, simply double click Flurry.scr.

    The standard Windows screensavers are pretty dull, and Flurry Screensaver is a great free addition to that collection. It would be nice if there were more options for it, or perhaps some other Mac-style screensavers, but as it's free it is hard to complain!

    Flurry Screensaver is a welcome, and really attractive addition to any PC's screensaver selection.

    Dream Aquarium Screensaver is one of the most realistic desktop aquariums on the market, towering head and feet above the competition.

    The developer of Dream Aquarium Screensaver calls it a 'next-generation' aquarium screensaver but doesn't explain what they've done to make it so. Whatever it is, the level of realism in terms of graphics, movement and stunningly bright colors is impressive. The swimming actions of the fish are particularly realistic as they nibble bits of food, dart in and out of coral and even chase each other.

    The details in Dream Aquarium Screensaver even stretch to moving eyes, gills and mouth and different refractions of light as they hit the water. There aren't many options, although Dream Aquarium Screensaver will at least allow you to display the fishtank in widescreen format and even over multiple monitors if you wish.

    Unfortunately, the Dream Aquarium Screensaver trial only features two different species of fish but if you upgrade, you get 16. Note that you'll also be plagued by the odd pop-up window using the demo version.

    For pure realism, Dream Aquarium Screensaver deserves full marks but you'd have to upgrade to the full version to do it justice.

    Transformers is a screensaver for Windows PC users that depicts a graphical representation of the movie's theme.

    Transformers fans have probably already played the PC game demo, and have possibly already seen the movie.

    If that's the case but you're still trying to get your sci-fi fix, consider adding this sleek-looking screen saver to your Transformers repertoire. The colors are superb, with a metallic blue and red robot eye at center, overlooking the horizon of planet Earth, and a darker black void bordering the image.

    It would've been nice if there had been some sort of animation included in this screensaver. The lack of it might be disappointing to some users although it's hard to complain about the graphic's crisp details.

    Transformers is a nice looking wallpaper that commemorates the movie of the same name.
